Security Practices
How we protect your information and maintain platform security
CaliCrash Connect, LLC takes the security of your personal information seriously. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we implement reasonable safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data on our platform.
Security Safeguards
Encryption in Transit
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocols.
Secure Storage
Your information is stored on secure servers with restricted access. We utilize platform-managed encryption and access controls to help protect stored data.
Access Controls
Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job functions. We use role-based access controls and audit logging.
Data Minimization
We only collect and retain information necessary for our services. We do not ask for sensitive identifiers like Social Security numbers, full dates of birth, or medical record identifiers during intake.
HIPAA-Aligned Safeguards
While CaliCrash Connect is not a Covered Entity or Business Associate under HIPAA, we implement safeguards aligned with HIPAA principles when handling sensitive information:
- We minimize the collection of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- We provide user warnings about not submitting medical record identifiers
- We treat health-related information with heightened security measures
- We implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards
Important Limitations
We want to be transparent about what we cannot guarantee:
- No system is completely secure. Unauthorized access or data breaches can occur despite our safeguards.
- We cannot control the security practices of third-party attorneys or service providers once your information is shared.
- Email communication is not fully secure. Sensitive information should not be sent via unencrypted email.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and devices.
Your Security Responsibilities
You play an important role in keeping your information secure:
- Do not share sensitive identifiers (SSN, medical record IDs, etc.) through our intake forms
- Use strong, unique passwords if you create an account
- Log out of shared or public computers
- Report suspected security issues to us immediately
- Review attorneys' own privacy and security practices before sharing additional information
Data Breach Response
In the event of a data security incident that compromises your personal information, we will:
- Investigate the incident promptly
- Take steps to contain and remediate the breach
- Notify affected individuals as required by law
- Provide information about steps you can take to protect yourself
- Cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities
